JIRA markup

How can we use markup/metadata to define tables, links, noformat'd text in jira? I used to have this feature in our offline version of the product and it's now gone. Do we have to enable anything in the administration pannel?

You will have to configure the wiki style renderer: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+Renderers
