JIRA (cloud) syncs all GSuite users while selected "Select specific groups"

I connected GSuite to JIRA, added myself as testuser in a GSuite group and selected "Select specific groups". All GSuite users in the same domain are being synced. The JIRA-report says:

"You've got 1 user connected to G Suite. They were last synced on 21 Dec 2018 4:46PM."

But no one else can login with mail and password anymore. What's happening? Which setting is wrong?

Hi Angelica,

There's only one user in the specific GSuite-group, but all users in the domain have to login to JIRA by Google Sign-in. Signing in with e-mail is no longer possible.

Hi Rowan,

If their accounts are already from Google, which means that they have a Google ID, they will be able to login with Google even if they are not synced on GSuite.

The problem is that I don't want them to sync, so I made a group with 1 person in it (myself) and than started syncing, but all collegeaus are synced, so all have to login with Google now... That's not desirable atm.

Thank you for the details, I get it now, sorry for the misunderstanding.
When you connect your instance to GSuite, even if they are not synced, they will be forced to log in with Google.

When you sync a GSuite group with Jira, only users on that group will be synced, so Jira says that "You've got 1 user connected to G Suite" is because only your test user that is on this group was synced.

If you go to GSuite and add all other users on the same group, then on the next sync, all users will be synced and they will be able to use the option to Login with Google on Jira.
I was able to check in the database and confirmed that only your account has a Google ID, so only your account is synced.

Can you add all other users to the group and sync GSuite again?
