JIRA can't access Marketplace

Joaquin Blaya
January 30, 2013

We've just setup a firewall in our office and have allowed all HTTP outgoing access, however, in JIRA, I'm getting the error The Atlassian Marketplace server is not reachable.

I've followed the instructions on this page https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/UPM/Configuring+Marketplace+Connectivity and I can both ping and telnet (port 80) to marketplace.atlassian.com, maven.atlassian.com and plugins.atlassian.com from the server where JIRA is hosted, however, there error is still ocurring.

We don't use a proxy for internet access.

Hi, have you tried port 443? I believe the market place uses HTTPS. I would advice opening 443 (HTTPS) as well if you haven't on your firewall.
