JIRA board dissapears when filter is changed

We have a project and the person who set up the project and the boards doesnt work here anymore. This isnt a problem but we need to change the boards filters now.

We cant just change the boards filters like we normally do because we didnt set up the boards. Jira wants us to save a new filter instead of changing the old ones. 

But when we do it this way and replace the board filter instead of changing them, the boards are no longer visible for other people. 

Why and how can we solve it? We cant simply set up new boards because many people have links to those boards and this will create a mess...

Hello,

The board visibility is defined by the filter visibility, which is defined for the board. You should share the new filter with the same groups and roles as the old one.
