JIRA Portfolio: do we need licenses for all users registered on a same JIRA instance?

Hi,

I need your support on this as we are evaluating installing "JIRA Portfolio" add-on or not.

Lets say I've got 200 users on same JIRA Server instance. Now lets say I want to install "JIRA Portfolio" add-on but assign licenses only to 25 users, as they are the only ones with Project Manager role.

Is that possible? OR am I forced to buy 200 licenses of JIRA Portfolio even when 175 users won't be allowed to use that add-on but only JIRA and JIRA Agile?

Simple answer is "yes".  The licence numbers for most addons need to match the licences for JIRA.

Your users will still be able to use Portfolio too, just not do a huge amount with it like your PMs will be able to.
