The one add-on that I’ve personally used (and still do) and can recommend is BigPicture.
With BigPicture, you can visualize dependencies on two modules: the Board module (Scrum and Kanban boards for agile projects) and the Gantt module (Gantt chart for classic projects). You can also visualize cross-project dependencies.
You’re able to create/visualize dependency links as soft or hard dependencies (The screenshots seen below is visualizing dependencies via the Board Module).
I’m sure there are other add-ons that would also suit your use-cases. My suggestion/recommendation above is based off my own personal experience and usage in light of your requirements.
