JIRA Kanban Board - can I rearrange by Assignee?

The standard JIRA Kanban board columns are arranged by STatus - does anyone know neat way of arranging the same board by Assignee?  I could use swimlanes I guess,

The whole point of a board is to represent where your issues are in the process, so the columns are coded to be status containers.

Swimlanes are the way to go for this. 

Although, if you're ok with add-ons, Comala Canvas lets you set up a grid with several options for rows and columns.
