JIRA: Issue History: colored differences

Is there a way to see the historical differences of e.g. the description of an issue better than with the actual text-comparison only?

It would be great if the differences would be shown with different colors, or bold text, or ...

Is there a functionality for that in JIRA?

We are using JIRA 5.2.6 right now.

No, there's nothing in Jira, and I've not seen a plugin to provide it.

It's a nice idea though - might be worth raising it with Atlassian, or someone here might pick it up as a project.
