JIRA- Freshdesk ( Integration Error - " The Reporter Specified is not a user "

Neha Sharma August 21, 2018

Hi Folks ,

I just integrated JIRA with Freshdesk successfully , i can see the Atlassian ( Jira ) Link for creating issue ( within Freshdesk ) as well

However , while creating an issue in JIRA ( within Freshdesk) , i am getting the following error Robin.PNG

The Reporter Specified is not a user  Check the attached screenshot

Also- the reporter field is only showing up , when i select few projects in JIRA ( within Freshdesk) .

For few project , lets say project "ABC "fields like Project name , issue type, summary is only showing up , hence for project "ABC" i am able to create an issue in JIRA ( within Freshdesk)

Kindly help!

I have the same issue and can't find any answers... any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I can link to an existing issue but not create a new one.

Is it saying the the reporter is not a user in Jira or Freshdesk? I assume Jira but it makes no sense as I set myself as the reporter and I have an account in Jira...

Worked it out... the Jira username isn't shown by default in the Jira User admin page, after exporting the user list to csv I could then find the correct username to add as the reporter (it's not your email address) and update the freshdesk app and all is working well now.

This solution worked for me.

if my mail address setup in Jira is first.lastname@company.com my username in jira was first.lastname.

When I set the reporter in Freshdesk to first.lastname it worked correctly.
