Issued performing a bulk change

Lana Horton August 14, 2024

I am closing several issues and assigning them to a sprint. Our Sprint naming convention is YY-xx - so, this one is 24-17.

I'm getting an error saying I"Sprint ID must be a number".  I have included a screenshot.

What format is acceptable and how can I perform a bulk change around this error? JIRA_BulkChange_SprintValue.png

Hi @Lana Horton ,

As per my knowledge, this is know issue.

You can use Sprint ID for bulk update instead of sprint name. You can refer below link to get sprint ID.

Hi @Lana Horton

just to add to @Sreenivasaraju P's great answer:

If you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. You can also bulk edit your issue fields using copy/paste, like so:

As you can see above, this works based on the sprint's name, rather than its ID.

I should also add that JXL can do much more than the above: From support for configurable issue hierarchies, to issue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.

Any questions just let me know,

Best,

Hannes
