Issue with automation firing when creating an issue from sprint vs nav bar

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
I've set up an automation to run when specific platforms are selected when creating an issue, to generate sub-tasks for those specific platforms.
The automation works as expected when I create the issue using the 'Create' button on the nav, but does not work when I use the '+ Create issue' in a sprint or backlog.
Is there an additional setting or rule that needs to be created for how or where issues are generated?
