Issue while assigning project roles to the users Jira Cloud

Hi,

We are facing an issue with our cloud instances. We are not able to assign project roles to the users both through REST API and through UI also for projects of types "Classic software" and "Classic business". The "Add People" option in project settings is disabled. Earlier we were able to assign project roles to users for those projects. Please find the attached screenshot for the same. Can you please help us on this issue?

A workaround for now (adding people via 'Board' and then clicking 'Add People' to Sprint), but the main issue still stands:

• There is no way to add a group of users, without any fancy permissions, to a pre-existing project in FREE mode via the Project Settings > Access Menu
• There is no way to assign a different Permission Scheme to a pre-existing project in FREE mode
• Changing permissions in the Default Permission Scheme had no impact in our case, as the Permission Scheme we were able to alter was not linked to the project.

Have you always been on the free plan?  As the message states this is not available on the free plan and you would need to update.

Around 2 months ago we had switched to free plan. Earlier we were on standard plan. But till few days ago we were able to assign project roles on free plan. It suddenly stopped working for us.
