Issue security by Component

Hi all,

I want to give access to a group of users to 1 component of a project. This group of person must not have access to the other components of the same project. Is there any way to do that in JIRA?

You cannot do this in JIRA. A workaround might be to use issue security schemes with a different security level for all the issues in that component. The security level has to be set manually OR using a post function or listener based on the component. The latter needs dev work.
