Issue With Field Visibility

Few fields like Due date and original estimates are not visible on any of the operation screens. Field is added on the correct screen, added to field configurations, every necessary thing is there but still they dont show up. Is this have something to do with recent fields upgrade that atlassian is doing.

Hello @Omkar Rajale

first thing: this is almost always project type related, not some mysterious “field upgrade” from Atlassian 🙂

So split it like this:

If it’s company-managed:

Even if the field is on the correct Screen and not hidden in Field Configuration, the Issue Layout can still hide it in the new issue view.

So go to: Project settings → Issue layout → pick the issue type → make sure Due date and Time tracking / Original estimate are actually placed on the layout.

And very important:

Original estimate = Time tracking.

If time tracking is disabled globally, it won’t show anywhere, no matter how perfect your screens are.

Now if it’s team-managed:

Screens and field configs don’t work the same way. Everything is controlled directly in: Project settings → Issue types → choose issue type → adjust Layout / Fields there.

Add Due date and Time tracking there.

Short sayed:

Company-managed → Screens + Field config + Layout (layout is usually the missing piece)

Team-managed → Just layout (and make sure time tracking is enabled)

Hi ,

It is a company managed space , I was able to fix the due date issue , it was related to schedule work item permission.

Now, for the original estimates field. I see it on view screen but not on the transition screen. i have a created a separate transition screen and placed the field on it. One tI tried searching it , it doesn't exist in the configuration scheme. So, I tried adding it but there also i wasn't able to filter it.

Hello @Omkar Rajale

What type of Space (project) does this concern? Is it Software, Business, or Service?

Is the Space Team Managed or Company Managed?

You can get that information from the View All Spaces page, looking at the Type column. Or you can click the ... button next to the Space name in the navigation panel on the left, and the last two lines in the pop-up will show the information as something like:

Software space
Company-managed

"Field configuration" and "Screens" implies that you are working with a Company Managed Space since those don't apply to Team Managed Spaces.

Can you share screen images of an issue where you expect to see the field? Obscure confidential information.

Can you show us the Issue Type Screen Scheme to show us which Screen Scheme applies to that issue type?

Can you show us the Screen Scheme then to show us the Screens you have associated with the issue operations?

And can you then show us the Screen configurations to show us that the field is included in the screens?

Can you then show us the Layout screen for that issue type in that project, showing that the fields are included there?
