My Jira board is team-managed, and it’s set up as a Software project.
I’d like to use Workflow A for Epic, Story, Bug, Sub-task, and a new issue type called Defect.
I want Workflow B to apply only to Task.
However, when I create the Defect issue type, it’s automatically assigned to Workflow B, and I can’t see anywhere to change this.
Is there any way to update the workflow assignment for Defect in a team-managed project?
Hello @yeon.cho,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I’ve also struggled to find a more direct way to do this. What I usually do is make a small change to the workflow to trigger the update process. When you publish the changes, Jira will prompt you to select which issue types should use that workflow, and that’s where you can reassign it.
I’d love to hear if other users have found a better approach.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Izabela

Many thanks,

Hello Prachi,
Thank you for your welcome and response.
I tried clicking 'manage workflow' on 'Board', it just redirects me to the workflow building diagram, which I specified "Workflow B" in the original question.
Can you guide me further?
Thanks,
Yeon
