Issue Create Screen Query

Hello community members,

I have two issues on which I need your inputs. Suggestions are welcome.


1. In issue screen, when a user wants to create service request, I want to display a dynamic form (HTML,CSS,JS) that is connected to Database (either external Postgre SQL, or CMDB) that will create a service request issue on Jira.

2. When a Jira User click on create issue (after filling summary, description,....) on Jira, I want to display a console that will ask him a question with Yes/No, if yes, redirect the user to some jira app.

Hi @bala_jasti and welcome to the community!  If you're licensed for JSM Premium, you can take advantage of Insight and the new Enhanced Forms feature

1. You could either establish an Insight object schema to map your existing relevant tables then write a script to update Insight on your desired frequency. You can also transition to Insight as your source of truth if that's an option.  Lastly, you can look into 3rd party apps like Elements Connect or External Data to hit the database directly in real time.
   NOTE - The 3rd party route has quite a few constraints in Jira cloud
2. If you're using enhanced forms for the request form, you'll be able to establish a dependency. It wouldn't be a console, but you could at least pop up a link depending upon the answer.

If this feels restrictive, there's always going the fully custom route, leveraging the Jira APIs to create your own portal experience.
