Hello,

We are currently trying to investigate if we can create a parent release with child releases under the parent release. Is this possible? The idea here is to have the parent release be more of a an initiative and then have releases under that initiative.

Hi @max.lightsey

Trust you are well.

Jira has a flat structure of Releases. If you need a hierarchy we suggest to consider one of Partner Apps.

Release Management & Roadmaps App for example has Parent Release entity called "Package" exactly for the use case you mentioned.

Give us a shout of you need a quick demo.

Cheers,

Yuri.

Hi @max.lightsey

Welcome to the community 🙂

For managing releases in Jira, you have releases tab for each project where the issues are associated with it.

You track the release with Epic and an Epic issue version can have multiple values and you can go on adding the child issues to specific versions and numbering/versioning format can follow the standards

Let me know if you have any queries

Thanks,

Pramodh
