Hey, guys! i'm setting up a new board for a project and i'm wondering if we can see the number of subtasks under card layout. I didn't find any options to allow it. Also, taking advantage of the post, is there a way for the default view of the board to be on the subtasks instead of the stories, without needing to 'group' to view the subtasks? I ask this because the movement of the cards will be with the subtasks.

Thank you for attention! :-D

Hi @Michel Ribeiro Araujo

Yes, you can display the number of subtasks associated with a card on a Jira board by adding "Subtasks" to the card layout in the board settings

if you goto backlog there you can find sub-tasks of the issue

@Michel Ribeiro Araujo Have you tried by adding sub-tasks field in backlog and active sprint.

There isn't "card layout" option in the board settings here.

@Michel Ribeiro Araujo cardlayout can be seen in Backlog/Active sprint you can see (…) at right side of the screen there you can find configure board

click on configure board you can see  card layout.

Sure! My Jira is in portuguese so you may need to translate something... 😅

Also, the most similar option to "card layout" would be "Tipos de item" which is this:

But even so, there isn't a field or option to show the subtasks.

@Michel Ribeiro Araujo Thanks for sharing the images i observe that you are using Team managed project in Team managed project there is no card layout

You can't currently do that with Team-managed projects. You can vote for that function and follow along here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-17336

Hi @Michel Ribeiro Araujo

As far as I know, it's not possible by default.

In Planyway app for Jira which is primarily a roadmap, resource planning and time tracking plugin, we also sync the boards/backlog from Jira and there we have the option to view the number of subtasks like this:

And you can expand them to view subtasks in more detail:
