Is there a way to show all issues under any epic that contains the desired word in its name?

Lets say I have epics that follow a format "[Category] - [Epic Name/Description]" and would like to search for all of the issues under epics that have the same category. Is there a way to do this?

I am able to bring up all of the epics in a category using "Epic Name" ~ "[Category]*" but would love to be able to see all of the issues under those epics as well without having to hard code in the results of that "Epic Name" ~ [Category]* search.

Happy Friday @Cody A_ Martin

I believe you will need a 3rd party app to accomplish this kind of JQL. Some 3rd party apps add functions to Jira that can be used in JQL. Take at look at these popular functions in ScripRunner (I am not affiliated with them).
