Looking to see if there's a way to set an Assets column field to just one schema in JXL Sheets.
When I copy and past values in from one Assets column to another, I get the error "Validation failed for Insight object" because it's matching up with other objects with the same name from other schemas.
Hi Theresa, 👋
That validation error usually happens when your Assets field is linked to multiple object schemas, and JXL can’t distinguish which schema the value belongs to.
At the moment, JXL Sheets doesn’t provide a way to restrict an Assets field column to a single schema — it always follows the configuration of the field in Jira itself.
Here’s what you can try instead:
Check the field context in Jira:
Go to Jira Settings → Issues → Custom fields → [Your Assets field] → Contexts.
Make sure the field is scoped to a single schema (or project) so JXL only references one set of objects.
Avoid copy-pasting object names directly:
When you paste values between Assets columns, JXL tries to match by object key/name — if another schema has the same name, validation fails.
Instead, use the object key (e.g., SCHEMA-123) rather than display names when pasting.
