Hi Community, im new on this platform and started a new job, so I'm not very confident with Jira.
After a long research i know that there are some plug-ins for pre-defined texts. Is there an other opportunity to set a default text for the field "ddescription".
For example when i create a new ticket in every board in my Jira I want that there is a predefined Text like:
Tasks for development:
Task for consultant.
etc.
What is the easiest way to get there?
Our Projects are company hosted.
I found some really complicated ways and i thought there should be an easier way.
- I think this is not working for cloud solutions. https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-add-a-default-value-to-the-description-field-in-jira-1063552575.html
Hi @Timo ,
welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Here you can find answer https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-questions/How-do-we-add-a-default-value-for-a-system-field-description/qaq-p/1497722
Hope this helps,

I have finally found a plug 'n play solution.
It's this app: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211873/default-values-for-create-issue-screen-issue-templates?tab=overview&hosting=cloud
It's free to use and matches exactly your questions, which are the same as I had.
For me it's working great! Hope it'll help you and other people searching for a ready to use solution.

FYI, it's not free. It's only free for 10 or less users.
For some reason, this feature exists in Teams-managed projects, but not in Company-managed... Why?!
