Is there a way to order the sprint board by priority?

The sprint board on the new JIRA UI will let us group by child issue, however it would be really helpful if we could order each issue in the board by priority or some similar system on the board so our team knows which issues to deal with first when looking at the board. 

I want high priority issues to be at the top of the board, and lower ones to be at the bottom. Is this possible at all???

You can either use the Ranking feature or if you wish to use priorities you can either edit the filter to include “...order by Priority desc” or you can create swimlanes by priority.

I can't find a ranking feature anywhere on the application, nor can I find a way to edit the filters.

so i suspect you are using a next-gen project. can you confirm? Assuming so you cannot achieve your goal.
