Had a request come in today where the requestor wanted me to grant the edit permission to 3 users for 1 Jira Issue in their project.
The requestor didn't want to give them the role that would allow them to edit all issues, though this is what we ended up going with, just temp access, update and then we will remove them.
Today we give all members of the user group view access to all projects, unless that project is restricted, this one isn't so the 3 users do have view access.
I am not find a great answer to this when I research this, most solutions don't fully solve the request and also open up other issues.
Does anyone know a good way to allow users the edit permission for a project, but only for 1 issue?
Have you already tried implementing an issue security level in combination with a user picker custom value?
I did work through setting up an issue security level for the 3 users, but if you apply this to the issue it makes it so only these 3 users can see this issue when we would want all users to see it and edit it, as its not a visibility issue, its an edit permission issue.
But for these 3 specific users that have view only access to this project, we would also want them to be able to edit just this one issue, not others.
Not sure if issue security level can do that for edit but from the research I have done it doesn't seem so, I would like to be wrong though lol.
