Is there a way to customize the email notifications I get from jira?

If you are a watcher on a Jira ticket, or if you created a ticket, or if the ticket was assigned to you, you get all kinds of notifications.

All I care to know is if the ticket was assigned to me or if someone mentions me directly.

It would be nice to know if the ticket was closed or resolved.

Currently, if John assigns the ticket to Mike, I receive a notification, and sometimes they engage in a lengthy discussion. I don't care about John or Mike or their discussions. Sometimes someone changes the label on a ticket, and I get a notification. I don't need that notification, I don't even know what labels are for, and I don't care to know.

Sometimes someone makes a typo, edits the task description, and I get a notification; I don't care.

All I need to know is if the task is assigned to me or if I'm mentioned. If no action is required from me, then I don't want to hear about it.
