In the new update, the dropdown list for epics allows me to choose multiple epics to see all the tickets at the same time. However, it doesn't seem possible to clear all selections without going back through and de-selecting the epics. Is this just a missing feature or am I missing something?
Seconding this; this is definitely an oversight in UI design. As someone managing a dozen or so epics at a time, in a list of scores, it's beyond tedious to have to search for each epic to clear it. The previous design included a 'clear' button; where is it now?
100% agree with you. It's so inefficient to have to select/de-select the epics i want displayed. What a hassle.

I despise the multi-select behavior since we were switched to the new UI design. The old behavior of single select was much better. I use this epic sidebar to help me see which items in the backlog are related to the selected epic....now I have to be very careful to deselect and epic after I click on it so that I don't build up a list of multiple-selected epics. Please go back to single select by default in the epic sidebar...if you want to allow multi-select via the Epic pulldown above, that is fine since that never acts as a "navigation" element.

Same issue here. Should be a "Clear all selections" option in the epic dropdown.

This feature is highly requested

I haven't heard from anyone who likes the epic multi-select. Seems like the default should be single select, and multi-select is only enabled with an option or maybe by shift-clicking.

I personally don't mind multi-select as long as there's a clear selection button.
