Is there a way to change the issue display back to a popup?

After the recent update, the new issues are all cramped into a small column on the right hand side. I understand that i can click on the task itself to see a fullscreen version, however the previous method of just showing a popup was much more efficient as I do not need to reload the entire board when I want to go back to it.

In order for me to read the details/comments in a task properly now I need to go to the actual task page, resulting in me needing to reload the entire board if i want to go back.
