Hi- My firm is in a regulated industry and we can't lose work data. Is there a way to prevent people from deleting cards/activity? Thanks!

Hi @Thomas Zottner,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Yes, delete is a permission that by default is given to the project admin, but you can always change the permission scheme to either not allow it at all or only allow Jira admins to do it.

Hi @Thomas Zottner and welcome to the community!

You can achieve this through a number of mechanisms:

  1. First and foremost, have strict controls over who can be Jira admin in your environment as they have rights to delete projects.
  2. On your project permission scheme(s) ensure the following permissions are locked down:
    1. Delete Issues
    2. Delete All Comments
    3. Delete Own Comments
    4. Delete All Attachments
    5. Delete Own Attachments
    6. Delete All Worklogs
    7. Delete Own Worklogs

The combination of these two steps will keep things controlled.
