Docs would be great in Jira! All the competitors have it.

Hi Donald, welcome to the Community.

What do you mean by Docs? Atlassian offers Confluence, an advanced wiki product.

@Donald MacEntire , I'm not sure I've ever heard of plans for this (not that there aren't). But the docs or documentation end Jira is best supported with Confluence.

You can easily create a Confluence page for all related documentation and then add a link to the Jira ticket. A few advantages to this method:

  • All documentation is stored in a specific location making searching, and organization easier.
  • Documents can easily be linked to a Jira issue. In fact, many documents could be linked to a jira issue. The Jira issues are also added as links to the Confluence document making bi-directional travel easy.
  • Confluence is a better collaboration space for documentation and support a full history of changes and updates to that document.

If you haven't tried this approach before, I encourage you to do so. It really does work well.

Here is a Blog article that highlights these advantages and more!
