Is there a batch import for jira users

Deleted user June 29, 2018

We have many users that need to be added to JIRA. Is there a way to do a batch import of users or must they be manually added one by one?

Hi @[deleted], I only know of two real ways to do it:  with an application/add-on/plugin or by adding users directly to the database.

Check out Bob Swift's "Jira Command Line Interface (CLI)" which lets you do lots of stuff via CSV.  https://bobswift.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/JCLI/overview

There are two other things to mention, although, they may be of no use to you:

1. You can connect Jira to a central user repository (ex: Crowd, LDAP, GSuite) and never manage user access in Jira again!

2. You can also create users when importing issues via CSV.  This is kind of a hack, as you'd end up with a bunch of issues you'd need to delete or close, but it's an idea.

Hope something in here helps!
