Hello Atlassian Support,
We are implementing an auto-provisioning workflow for Jira Cloud sites. As part of this automation, we also need to handle site decommissioning when a site is no longer required.
Specifically, we would like to know:
1. Is there any official API available to fully decommission or delete a Jira Cloud site?
2. Is the site deletion process only available via the admin console (manual action), or is automation possible in any form?
We’re looking for guidance on the recommended approach to automate or streamline site decommissioning.
Thanks,
Chelluri Durga Venkata Sai Keshav
Hello @Chelluri Durga_ Venkata Sai Keshav
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
Disclaimer: I am just another user of the Atlassian products. I am not an Atlassian team member.
In my searching I have not found any official documentation of an API that supports managing app subscriptions nor any way to programmatically interface with the Billing functionality.
To the best of my knowledge you must use the admin console UI to manage app subscriptions.
Hi @Chelluri Durga_ Venkata Sai Keshav ,
Welcome to Atlassian community!
Please noteAtlassian does not currently provide a public API to fully delete or decommission a Jira Cloud site. Site deletion is considered a highly sensitive and irreversible action, and for security and compliance reasons, Atlassian restricts this operation to manual steps performed by verified site administrators.
Site deletion is only available via the Atlassian admin console as a manual action.
Only an organization admin can delete a Jira Cloud site.
The process requires logging into admin.atlassian.com, selecting the site, and following the deletion workflow, which includes confirmation steps and a grace period before permanent deletion.
There is no supported or documented way to automate this process via REST API, Atlassian Access, or any other automation tool.
I hope this helps!
Regards
Chitra Nagdeo
