I want a dashboard widget that ideally displays:

My Custom Title

${cnt}

where ${cnt} is the number of rows in filter "myFooFilter"

Any ideas? (I'm ready for my flogging when somebody tells me how trivially simple this is)

This would be nice to have -- a widget that allows us to select queries to report on, vs by field names.

It's not *that* simple. The closest I can get (without code) is to use one of the simple "filter display as" gadgets.

For example, if you use the "pie chart", you'd get

{name of filter}

{mmm pie}

{filter returns X issues}
