Hi all, good morning,
I woke up with idea of using a checklist field to be used to prevent a transition, if one of the checkboxes is not checked.
I believe that is possible, but is there a way to do it and inform the user in that way, some kind of message to be showed?
Thanks in advance,
Tiago
you can set a Condition on the workflow transition to check a field value
Do you need more detailed info?
Hi @Tom Lister ,
Right, that would prevent the transition, but is the user warned about that? That a certain condition for the transition was not met?

A condition won't warn the user. The option to use the transition won't be shown if the condition fails.
Validators issue warning but there is no option to check a field value in the basic workflow options.
You other options would be left with looking for a plugin to support this such as scriptrunner or Jira Misc Workflow Extensions.

You can achieve this using our App Issue checklist PRO or Issue checklist free.
Issue Checklist provides you with in-built validators that can be used to stop transition if checklist items are not completed(marked).
To set up this Validator:

@Tom Lister @ADA Is there a way I can extend this Validator to prevent the Reporter of the issue from completing this Checklist? By the way this Checklist is very helpful
