Hello Atlassian Community,
I have a question regarding Jira Cloud user accounts and would appreciate your guidance.
One of our users accidentally started using an incorrect Atlassian account a long time ago.
We currently have two different Atlassian accounts for the same user:
aaditya.khule@ordinet.in (double "a")aditya.khule@ordinet.in (single "a")The user has been working with the incorrect account (aaditya.khule@ordinet.in) for a long time, so this account contains all of his Jira data, including assigned issues, worklogs, comments, history, dashboards, filters, and other activities.
We would like the user to continue using only the original account (aditya.khule@ordinet.in).
Our questions are:
aaditya.khule@ordinet.in to aditya.khule@ordinet.in?aaditya.khule@ordinet.in to aditya.khule@ordinet.in, will all the existing Jira data automatically become associated with the original account? We are using Jira Cloud.
Thank you in advance for your guidance.
Hi @Ordinet Workflow
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Atlassian currently doesn't support merging two Atlassian accounts, so these will remain two separate accounts. There is an existing feature request for this: ID-240.
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/ID-240
In your case, the safest approach would be to keep the account that already contains the Jira history (aaditya.khule@ordinet.in) and change its email address to the correct one.
Since aditya.khule@ordinet.in is already used by the other account, you would first need to change that unused account to a temporary/different email address. Then you can change the active account from aaditya.khule@ordinet.in to aditya.khule@ordinet.in.
