Is it possible to make a field read-only?

Hello,

We have a request from a client who wants a field already created and with datas to eventually be abandoned. During the transition between this old field and the new system, he wants this old field to be readable but not editable.
We did not find the possibility of making a field read-only (neither with the permissions nor with the field configuration).

Is it possible?

Hi @Tatiana Marti 

If you add this field in the view screen and not in the create/edit screen they will be able to edit it from bulk edit only. 

If bulk change feature is only granted for admin you are good to go, it it's open to anyone, user will have a way to edit the field but it will log into the issue history.

I do not know any way to make sure it will not be edited.
