Is it possible to get a left-side panel for components, similar to epics or versions?

Is it possible to get a left-side panel for components, similar to epics or versions? 

In a scrum backlog board, it is possible to open up a left-side panel for Epics and for Versions.  Then one can easily filter the backlog by epic or version -- and easily add issues to epics and versions.

I would like to do something similar with components, where:

- work needs to be prioritized both within a particular component and across components, and

- issues may belong to multiple components

I end up for the moment using activating the very left side field "Components" and adding this field to the Issue panel of settings, so that when you create an Issue you are able to declare to which "Component" it is related to.

This way at least, I have a way of grouping Issues into another category.

I would though wish, Jira was a bit more configurable to meet such a requested feature...

It is not possible to add new left-side panel with component.

What you can do is to add new field in card layout (you can find it in board configuration) and display it in backlog view.

Thanks, I did so but didn't seem to help to much in the visualization concept...
