My client is only interested in the numbers in a single table, not multiple issue dumps. They are not interested in seeing the issues, only the numbers.
Plugin-based solutions are OK in this scenario.
A single report listing all issues created, resolved, closed each day can be emailed in a few steps.
If they want a summary table, then that is not part of vanilla Jira but there may be a Marketplace App that can help.

Yes, this is easily possible with our plugin AIO Reports and Timesheets for Jira.
Two examples of similar reports could be found at the links below (It is also possible to create the same report in a tabular format)
The report can be set to emailed at a regular frequency in excel format.
