Is it possible to delay a post function?

I am using 'Automation for Jira' to create some calculated fields upon a transition. I am then using a post function to update the issue with the calculated fields. 

However the post function is acting before the automation is complete meaning the value is blank. Is there anyway to delay the post function to allow the automation to take place first?

No.  The post-functions are part of the transition, Automation works a lot off events, which happen after the post-functions.
