Is it possible to create a plugin that not shown on interface?

Hi Everybody,

I want to create a plugin that does not show on the interface. No body can see it while using JIRA, but it works on the background. Is this possilbe? Any one knows how to achive this?

There are lot of plugin modules in JIRA and a number of them work in the background. For example: listeners, scheduled tasks, servlet filters etc. Even some of the workflow elements like conditions and validators are not readily visible to users.

Depends on what you are trying to do!
