Is it possible to change the value of custom number field to a decimal?

Is it possible to change the value of custom number field to a decimal.

ie if user entered 50, then this should be written as 50.00

Answer accepted

Allow updates of this field only in a transition. And in the transition, use a post function using script runner and update the value. Should be simple
