Is it possible to add approvers to a Jira Software Kanban Board Workflow

We have a Jira Software project Kanban Board workflow where we would like to see if it is possible to add approvers at different status' like we can in Jira Service Manager.

Example - Before status "TESTING QA" can move to "QA ACCEPTED" it must be approved in the system

You may also try - the default conditions on the workflow:

1. Create a new project role called APPROVER 
2. Create a status APPROVAL and add it in your workflow.
3. Put a condition on the outgoing transition from APPROVAL status --> "User is in project Role" then restricts the transition to with the Project role "APPROVER".
