Hi Team,

We are planning to upgrade to Jira version 8.0 from 7.6.4v, is it good to upgrade to latest version? or upgrade to 7.13v before 8.0v?

Any suggestions or any challenges we face during upgrade process.

Our server is hosted in Linux (Centos) OS.

Thanks

Hi @Teja ,

I upgraded from 7.5.0 to 8.1.0 about two weeks ago without any issues.  We are running on Windows 2012 R2 not sure if that makes a difference for you.

My best recomendation would be to take a look at the Add-ons you have installed and from the manage add-ons page run an update check to make sure that everything you have installed (and care about) will be compatible with the upgrade to version 8.

I'd also recommend setting up and test server if you don't already have one, and perform the upgrade with a copy of our production data on the test server so you can be sure there won't be any issues prior to performing the upgrade on your production instance.

I hope that helps!

@Jimmy Seddon Thank you, we already have test instance :). I will go though the 8 version docs again. and try to install it in test instance first.
