I am using free version of JIRA to see if it's a good fit for our start up venture or not. I created a project as SCRUM, but now I need simple Kanban board instead of Agile/SCRUM board. From the forums, I understand that I need to create a new board using the same filter for the existing Board. So these are the steps I followed.
Hello @Shakir Shaikh
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
That process for creating boards (from an existing project) will list only Company Managed projects.
If you created a Team Managed board you can, technically, still create another board but...
1. You will have to create the board from a Saved Filter, after having created and saved a filter that retrieves the issues from your Team Managed project.
2. You will not be able to set the Location for the board to your Team Managed project. Team Managed project are allowed to have only one board associated to them. You will have to set the Location to Personal.
3. The board will not automatically be added the the navigation panel associated with the project. You will have to add a shortcut to it using the Shortcuts option.
4. Boards created in this manual manner do not function quite the same as the boards created automatically with a Team Managed project. You will notice functional differences if you have experience with the automatically created Team Managed project Kanban boards.
More information about creating a second board can be found in this post:
