Is any way to keep versions of attachments in JIRA instead of deleting attachments?

Prashanth_S May 27, 2019

How to differentiate between attachments? Is there any versions for uploaded attachments?

Hi Prashanth,

We use an add-on called Cloud Files. It has been a huge help for us as you can create folders, sort differently, upload larger file sizes, etc. You will need an AWS S3 bucket to store the files in. Support is always very responsive and helpful.

Thank you @John Funk for the response.. I will look into that.

No, this is nothing Jira features out of the box.

Think about using Confluence for documentation (versioning of pages & attachmentsand also make attachment contents searchable...)

We use Jira just for the process of an issue & create a page in Confluence for documentation, when needed. When the issue is closed all attachments are MOVED to Confluence & the JIra issue just stores a link to the attachments in Confluence.

You might want to check the Issue Publisher app in the marketplace.

Thank you @JP _AC Bielefeld Leader_ . That was very clear except moving attachments to  confluence when issue is closed in Jira. Can you just brief on how can we do this?.Sorry am new to Confluence. Thank you for your patience.
