Hi,

we want to migrate parts of our on-premise Jira to Cloud.

Our supplier told us that migrating with the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant JCMA is only possible , when server is available from the internet. Is it really true, that for a successful use of the JCMA it needs to be also reachable from Atlassian sites,

or would be an allowed outgoing connection for these be sufficient?

Hello @Dominik Heim ,

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!!

This are the two different things.

  1. Your Jira is accessible on the internet without any restriction like without VPN etc.
  2. Your Server should have internet so that it can reach to the Atlassian Marketplace or your Cloud Site.

Basically, you can have your Jira behind VPN, but it should have internet connection to the server, and you need to have all domain whitelist by Atlassian mentioned in this page.

https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/ip-addresses-and-domains-for-atlassian-cloud-products/

I hope this helps.

Regards,
Mayur
