Inventory management is very useful, and nowadays in Atlassian instances, it's referred to as Asset Management.

As @Brita Moorus  mentioned, we can use Jira Service Management (JSM) along with Assets. One of the key features available is Asset Discovery, which allows us to automatically detect and track all hardware and software assets in our environment.

This helps streamline asset visibility and overall asset management across the organization.

I've been using Jira Service Management (JSM) together with Assets, and it's a great combo for asset and inventory management. Assets lets you track physical items, link them to tickets, and automate workflows - making inventory tracking much smoother. If you have JSM with Assets, that might be just what you need!

That said, Jira itself is primarily built for project and issue tracking. I've seen some teams customizing Jira with apps or tailored workflows to handle inventory tasks, especially if their needs are straightforward and fit well within issue tracking. So with the right tweaks, Jira can definitely be adapted for inventory management too 😊
