Hi everyone,
i read in the "App updates" that the roll-out of "Assets is now a standalone platform app" is completed. As I understand it, I can use Assets with my Premium Teamwork Collection license now, as it states:
Assets will appear as its own app in Atlassian Administration and have its own settings, billing, and data residency separate from Jira Service Management.
It's now easier to manage Assets as it's independent from Jira Service Management.
But the App does not show up in my app switcher. Did I get something wrong?
Hello @Christian Wolf
Both of you have Right.
I think the confusing part here is that Atlassian’s messaging is not fully aligned yet.
On one side, the Teamwork Collection docs do say it includes access to the Atlassian Platform apps, and Atlassian’s Platform Apps page now lists Assets as one of those apps. Atlassian’s Assets docs also say that Assets has moved to platform and should be accessible from any Jira app through the app switcher.
On the other side, the rollout note for “Assets is now a standalone platform app” is still marked ROLLING OUT, not completed. And in Atlassian’s own February Community comments they said linking Assets into Jira, Confluence, Teamwork Collection, and more was the long-term goal.
Assets is now part of Service Collection Standard - Atlassian Community
Hello @Christian Wolf

Well, it says Assets is independent from Jira Service Management. So...

Like @Arkadiusz Wroblewski mentioned Assets are still rolling out as the separate app. There will be an announcement when Assets become a separate standalone app. Until then, it's considered to be part of Service Collection.
