Hello community folks,
I’m experiencing a highly inconsistent UI issue in Jira Software Cloud that is making the board unreliable to use.
Issues (Epics and Tasks) appear and disappear depending on which tab I navigate to. The same sprint and project show different data across views, even though no changes are made.
Specifically:
Issues are visible in Backlog and Active sprints
When switching to Timeline or back again, the same issues disappear
Returning to the original tab sometimes shows them again, sometimes not
At one point, an entire sprint showed “0 work items”, even though it previously contained ~20 issues
The behavior is inconsistent and non-deterministic
Backlog
Active sprints
Timeline
Issues assigned to a sprint or epic should remain consistently visible across all Jira views (Backlog, Active sprints, Timeline), unless explicitly filtered out.
Issues randomly disappear and reappear when navigating between tabs, without any filter changes.
Jira Software Cloud
Company-managed project
Browser: Dia and Chrome have same problem
OS: macOS
No custom filters applied (Quick filters off)
Reproducible consistently in this project
I’ve attached link showing:
Issues present in one view
The same sprint showing empty or missing issues in another view
Inconsistent state after switching tabs

This makes sprint and tracking unreliable, as it’s impossible to trust what the UI is showing at any given moment.
Could you please investigate whether this is:
A known Jira Cloud UI regression
A project configuration issue
Or a caching / frontend sync problem
Thank you,
Rejaine
Welcome to the community.
Can you try another browser or incognito window? If all works fine, clear your cache and cookies.
Also check for browser add-on they can cause strange behaviour as well.
Today just stopped. I don't know why yesterday it was inconsistent like that. I did try Chrome and incognito. I am not sure if it was because it was a new site and new project and things were slow...
