Hello Everyone,
I'm running Jira Software v 8.6.0 with multiple projects. I have one POP/IMAP Mail server setup on a G.Mail account with 3 handlers configured.
The 1st Mail Handler is configured on the INBOX folder, from the e-mail address mentioned above and everything works as intended for this one.
The other two e-mail handlers are configured on ALIAS E-MAILS for the same Google Account.
My issue is with the handlers configured on alias e-mail addresses; The JIRA issues are created after several hours (delay up to 8/9 hours) or not created at all.
Regards,
Ciprian
Hello, sometimes delays are because the inbox is full of emails (news or old) and Jira has to process them all. I would suggest to check if it's not the case here and archive/move the old stuff
Hi,
Thank you for your response, we don't have a huge amount of received e-mails, I don't think that's the case.
As I mentioned, for the first handler, configured on INBOX 'folder' (although google account don't user folders anymore, they use labels) works fine, the tickets are created with a lag of a few minutes tops, ALWAYS.
The Messages Threshold is set to 1 and and the BULK option is set to ignore the emails (Action that will be performed for emails with the 'Precedence: bulk' or emails with an 'Auto-Submitted' header that is not set to "no".)
Other difference between the email handlers is the "Catch Email Address" option, which is not used on the 1st handler. Only for the 2nd and 3rd ones have this configured.

And where are the other two email handlers looking for emails if not the inbox? Are those labeled differently I suppose

They are 'scanning' the inbox but only for emails sent to one of the alias email addresses, hence the option "catch email address".

I would suggest to have a filter at Gmail to add a different label to each of those aliases and setup Jira to scan those 2 folders instead of the inbox.
I can't ensure that it will solve the issue but might help and will certainly help future troubleshooting by keeping things in different places.

I cannot create folders in gmail accounts, they use labels and I've already tried that :(
thank you for taking the time to help me!
cheers,
