Hi Everyone

We are currently using JIRA's native incoming mail server. And we currently have 4 incoming mail server with their handlers configured.

We are planning to scale this to 20 incoming mail server with their mail handlers.

My question to you is, assuming we ping the mailboxes say every 15 min (instead of 1 min) or so, will the high number of mail servers configured contribute to any performance degradation ?

Rahul

The volume of incoming mail is usually more of a concern than the number of email handlers - I've got access to a system with around 35 active mailboxes, most of which are polled on 2-5 minute cycles at the longest (some are on 1), and we've never noticed any performance issues with that.
