In "access" for a next-gen project, search for a generic group like "jira-developers"-> no match

Souni Breil August 13, 2020

Hello!

We're just launching a new project in our company and I created the new next-gen project in Jira for that. It's private because a bit "hush-hush" so I wanted to add the group "jira-developers" which is populated by my small dev team. Unfortunately when I am in project setting -> access -> add people (where it says to search for people or groups) when I enter "jira-developers" it says there are no such people found. If I enter the names individually, they exist.

Can I fix this? For now I will enter the names individually, but that defeats the purpose of having created a bunch of bespoke groups ...

Cheers,

Souni

Hi Souni,

I was able to add the group with no problem. I have found that I also have to be in the group to use the group. So if you are not in the group already, add yourself. Then you should be able to see the group to add them to the project.

"I have found that I also have to be in the group to use the group." -> This did it!

Not sure how I managed to add that group to every other project without being in it, but I don't really care. :D

Thanks!
